An Informational Technology (IT) Liability policy is unique as it incorporates both Public Liability and Professional Indemnity covers into the one policy.

Historically issues have arisen within the IT industry due to the uncertainity of whether a claim should fall under a Public Liability policy which covers property damage and personal injury or whether it falls under a Professional Indemnity policy that covers financial loss.
